The USSF and the Maryland Savate Federation are sponsoring a 3-day La Canne Seminar conducted by Bertrand Dubreuil, 11-time French champion in La Canne Combat.  Mr Dubreuil is one of the best instructors and practitioners of La Canne in the world.  Please take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn from one of the best, if not the very best!  Click here for information flyer and registration form.

New La Canne Basics class for fall.
Learn the unique French weapon sport and art of "Canne de Combat" (French cane or stickfighting).  Learn basic strikes, blocks, lunges, and evasions associated with a single "la canne."  No experience required.  Start with the fundamentals, then progress to spins, grip changes, and aerial strikes.  Sticks included.  Shinguards recommended.
Starts Monday September 8.

Who we are
The Maryland Savate Federation promotes the sport of savate throughout the Maryland and Washington DC area. 

We welcome participants of all skill levels to train with us under the instruction of our coach, Steve Savoie.
What's new
Fall Classes Starting Soon
Online registration is open for Fall adult and kids classes.   All classes are held at the Cedar Lane Recreation Center in Columbia.

Savate Station Workouts - Saturdays from 9:00 to 10:15 am starting September 13
Advanced classes - Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:00 pm starting September 11
Savate for Kids - Saturdays from 10:30 to 11:30 am starting September 13
La Canne Basics - Mondays from 7:15 to 8:30 pm starting September 8

Registration is through Howard County Recreation and Parks.  Click on the Advanced Search link and then search on keyword "Savate" to find our classes.  Or call Rec & Parks at 410-313-PARK.

Savate Tournament and Seminar in Manchester, New Hampshire, April 19-20 
An international savate tournament and seminar will be held the weekend of April 19, including savateurs from Canada and Belgium.  Must be red glove or higher to compete, exhibition fights open to any rank.  Competition fee is $25/members, $45/non-members, and $40-$50 for the seminar.  Thanks to Eugenio Traballano and the New Hampshire Savate Club for hosting an exciting and challenging savate weekend.
